Mud Springs Ranch
Established in 2019, Mud Springs Ranch is located in Three Forks, Montana. We specialize in raising two distinct types of goats: the Boer breed for meat production and the Oberhasli, Toggenburg, and Saanen breeds for dairy purposes.
Maintaining a clean and healthy herd is of utmost importance to us. We take pride in being CLA (Caseous lymphadenitis) and CAE (Caprine arthritis and encephalitis) free. Our goats enjoy grazing on pasture during the spring and summer months, while we provide them with a balanced diet of alfalfa/hay mix and grain during kidding and winter months to ensure their optimal health and well-being.
Unleash Your Adventurous Spirit: Raising Pack Goats for Outdoor Exploration
We are a family of six, so we work together to keep our mini homestead operating. Our kids are a part of the local 4H and FFA community here in Gallatin. We love the outdoors and raising pack goats has allowed us to be outside even more.
Pack goats are great companions for any outdoor enthusiast. They are reliable, hardworking, and can carry supplies on long hikes, making them ideal for outdoor exploration.
We work with our goats daily to familiarize them with humans and build trust. This helps create a strong bond and ensures that they are comfortable and obedient during outdoor adventures.
If you're interested in purchasing a single-pack goat or a set, please feel free to get in touch with us! We'd love to hear from you.
Toggenburg DAIRY GOATS
They originated in Obertoggenberg, Switzerland and was the first officially recognized breed of dairy goats. Toggenburgs were the first of the Alpine breeds to reach Britain, arriving in England in 1884. Through crossbreeding and selective breeding, the British Toggenburg emerged as a superior breed.
They are a very kind breed of goats. They produce a good amount of milk and their temperment makes them easy to milk
Oberhasli
DAIRY GOATS
The Oberhasli is a modern American breed of dairy goat. It derives from the subtype of Chamois Colored Goat from the Oberhasli district of the Bernese Oberland in central Switzerland. All purebred members of the breed descend from five Chamois Colored Goats imported to the United States in 1936.
